String and Piano Summer Programs

Our String and Piano Summits offer intermediate to advanced students a chance to receive collegiate level instruction for one week summer. Students push themselves to make rapid instrumental growth, meet like-minded ambitious peers, and immerse themselves in advanced studies.
These programs offer instruction with UofL collegiate faculty, esteemed guest artists, chamber music and orchestral experience, instrumental seminars on a variety of topic and more.
The programs cost $425 for the week with daily classes from 8:30 AM – 5 PM.
Curriculum and schedule varies by instrument so please email the individual faculty with any questions.

Violin Summit
The Violin Summit is guided by Dr. Geoffrey Herd.
Participants (Suzuki Book 7+ or equivalent) receive daily lessons, technique classes, seminars on practicing, performance psychology and master classes. Students are also immersed in chamber music exploring music for strings and piano.
Cello Summit
The advanced cello summit is guided by Professor Paul York. Students receive daily individual lessons, technique classes, masterclasses, cello choir, and performances opportunities.
Piano Summit
The Advanced Piano Summit is guided by Dr. Anna Petrova.
Students receive daily lessons, technique classes, seminars on practicing, performance psychology, masterclasses, and performance opportunities.
Guitar Summit
The Advanced Guitar Summit is guided by Dr. Carlos Bedoya
Students receive daily lessons, technique classes, guitar ensemble, seminars on practicing, performance psychology, masterclasses, and performance opportunities.
