Student Experience

Students at the School of Music experience a vibrant and supportive environment throughout their journey at the University of Louisville. Outside of the classroom, personal growth is valued through our variety of student organizations, the comprehensive music library, a wide range of scholarships and the dedicated advising of our staff.

We encourage community outreach through our music and offer opportunities to connect throughout the campus and across the world. Our student organizations and ensembles are an excellent way for students to connect with others and make a difference during their time at UofL and afterwards.

The commitment to music education is evident in our helpful advisors who work with students throughout their time in the School of Music. Academic success is rooted in resources that are provided throughout the university and our advisors are keen to share their knowledge with students during regular meetings.

Our music library offers an array of supplies for our students and the community. The library houses extensive collections of sheet music, recordings and a guest book with a great number of famous visitors. Students also have the opportunity for quiet study and research in comfortable nooks within the library.

These resources and opportunities are a part of our mission to educate and inspire musical leaders, practitioners and advocates into the personal and professional lives beyond the university.
